Observation 101

Hey Guys,

Just thought i would shared a little incident i overheard (Definitely didnt eavesdrop) in the computer lab yesterday within one of the other groups that you might find entertaining and also a slighty bigger issue than our text message incident ;)

*Please note this information has been documented strictly for educational purposes only, names, group numbers and personal information have been left out for legal reasons*

.. Lets just say the Project Architect within this group took(her)position quite seriously and within the course of 45 minutes gave each member (both present and not in attendence) a critical analysis of there current progress to date.

She initially began by informing the group, that as PA, it was her job to ensure everyone was pulling there weight and contributing as much time and effort as herself, and of course to inform the members of any discrepancies or incorrect tasks they had carried out as that is what happens in the real world (At this stage i had an immediate flash of Max Markson on celebrity apprentice).

She then started on a group member, (that by observation, had contributed alot of time to the project), informing that everything she had done was wrong!. And that she, as pm had not spent all this time setting up the programm and website, for this member to do it any other way. So she was direct to start again.

She then went on to inform the group she had the concept design completed and no one was to stray from this plan, To also telling an international student, who sat slightly intimidated in the corner, that she had, even through multiple instruction, continued to post her blogs in incorrect places. To lastly complaining that other members had not been pulling their weight, and fuming that the last member had ruined (contributed) her website programming.

After 45 minutes of tearing every group member to shreads, one of the group members leaving, and the other admitting defeat, a few observations can be made.

1) Definitely the most entertaining 45 mins of my day
2) STOKED she is not in our group
3) A more integrated approach to group work (in which we have implemented in our group) i think is a definite positive, whilst we all have been delegated specific tasks, rather than running a dictatorship, working as commrades i feel will provide a positive and successful outcome. As long as we all contribute and continue to converse and implement everyones ideas, and more importantly our strengths, we will all learn the necessary skills this assignment intends us to achieve.
